Rehabilitation programme

Structured work on routines, environment, relationships and relapse risk.

Rehabilitation is not isolation for its own sake and not a promise to ‘reprogramme’ someone. It is a structured period in which safety is gradually translated into skills for ordinary life.

A programme should be explainable: why each element exists, who provides it and how progress transfers home.

Who may benefit from an intensive setting

It may be considered when outpatient support is insufficient, the environment remains unsafe, use returns rapidly or a person needs reliable routine and close multidisciplinary support. The decision follows assessment, not a universal duration.

What a substantive programme contains

Individual and group work, physical and mental health review, sleep and routine, relapse prevention, family meetings and discharge planning. Method names matter less than qualifications, transparency and connection to the person's goals.

Not sure what kind of help is appropriate?

Share only what you feel ready to share. A professional can distinguish an emergency from a planned-care need and suggest one realistic next step.

Rights and dignity

Before admission, explain contact, visits, phones, leaving the programme, complaints and access to medical care. Humiliation, intimidation, unjustified detention and labour without a clear therapeutic purpose are not treatment.

A confidential first step

You can begin without sharing your whole personal history

For a first enquiry, a short description of the situation is enough. You do not have to give your full name or share sensitive details; a specialist will calmly explain the possible next steps.

  • No judgement or pressure
  • Only information needed for care is discussed
  • Privacy rules and lawful limits are explained before treatment
Confidential · begin without a full name · no commitment.

Frequently asked questions

How long should rehabilitation last?

There is no single duration for everyone. It depends on goals, risk, progress and the continuing-care plan.

Can families participate?

Yes, when safe and agreed. Family work helps prepare realistic boundaries and the return home.
